On September 17, 2020 Mat Cat Bridge Project with the sponsorship of POSCO Group, Korea Food for Hungry International (Korea) and the support of the Department of Transport of Can Tho City, The Union Friendship organizations in Can Tho city.
After 7 months of construction, up to now, the construction of Mat Can bridge has been completed.

Mat Cat Bridge is located at the beginning of Xeo La canal connecting Truong Vinh Nguyen street and Hau Thanh Dong Canal. Therefore, when put into use, it will create a connection between Phu Thu, Tan Phu and Thuong Thanh wards. From there, contributing to creating favorable conditions for little students to go to school, for grown-ups to travel, trade in goods and promote local socio-economic development.
Mat Cat Bridge is a Modular steel bridge with 18m long, 4.5m wide, and has reinforced concrete surface with a total investment of around 1.5 billion VND. The main girder of the bridge used hot rolled H-section steel manufactured by Posco Yamato Vina, who is capable of supplying H-shaped steel with pre-order lengths, fast delivery time, guaranteed and stable quality.

All parties have supported each other to develop and construct a modular bridge model in accordance with Vietnam's design standards, enables swift construction in places where poor on-site conditions make the transportation of heavy equipment difficult. Since the main parts of the bridge, such as top plates and girders, are pre-manufactured at a factory, the quality and safety could be secured. The main parts of the bridge, such as the deck slabs and beams, are pre-produced at the factory, so quality and safety can be guaranteed
