On December 6, POSCO YAMATO VINA (CEO Lee Young-Woo, PY VINA), the only large-scale section steel manufacturer in Vietnam, and the Vietnam Steel Structure Club under the Vietnam Steel Association held “Eco-Friendly Technology For Construction Projects” seminar to promote eco-friendly steel structure in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
The seminar was attended by around 35 guests from a total of 18 organizations/companies, including Mr. Nghiem Xuan Da, chairman of the Vietnam Steel Association, to actively discuss the advantages of eco-friendly steel structure and how to improve the steel structure industry.
Mr. Park Kyu-sik, senior researcher of the Structure Research Group of the POSCO Steel Solution Research Center, presented construction materials in Vietnam market to demonstrate the advantages of eco-friendly steel structure which can be recycled comparing to RC (Reinforced Concrete) structure and plan to strengthen competitiveness of steel structures in the situation of Vietnam market accordingly. As a result, it proposed the advanced technologies, the development of professional human resources, and the supplementation of systems and regulations.
Mr. Nguyen Van Sua, Vice chairman of the Vietnam Metallurgy Association, introduced QCVN (National Quality Control Regulation) of section steel which is being promoted to improve the quality management of products distributed in the market, and Professor Tran Van Phuc of Architecture Ho Chi Minh city University announced Fire protection on structural construction regarding Vietnam regulations to secure fire-resistance performance of steel structures. Especially, the attendees showed great interest in the quality regulations supplement of fire-resistant paint to expand steel structures demand.
In the seminar, Kim Yun-ho, Head of PY VINA Marketing Division, expressed aspiration to continuously contribute by taking advantage of all PY VINA's capabilities to create a safety-oriented, eco-friendly, advanced steel structure ecosystem through individual meetings with the BOD of Vietnam Steel Association and customers.
